This paper analyzes the recent debate on operativity, technique, and culture in German Media Theory, examining the confrontation between the radical technicist approach and the anthropological turn of the Studies in Cultural Techniques. Additionally, a critical assessment will be made regarding the recent incorporation of Simondon into the discussion. Consequently, a new perspective on the potential contributions of Simondon to this debate will be suggested. One of the main contributions highlighted in this paper is as follows: the Simondonian notion of technical operation offers a non-anthropological approach to technique while simultaneously providing a non-technocentric consideration of the technical dimension of culture.
