This article sheds light onto the "formal conflict" in Franz Kafka's "The Cares of a Family Man". Through the voice of his narrator, Kafka uses a precise language in or-der to describe his creature (Odradek), whereby several paradoxes come out. We pay serious attention to these paradoxes, and show the radical consequences, showing the consequences they have for the concept of "history" in Kant and Benjamin, in their relationship with the concept of "nature" in both authors.
