After reviewing the state of art on classical history in Chilean Independence, this article examines and explains how classical Greco - Roman history served as an archetype for the configuration of the Chilean Republic. In this sense, this article analyzes how literate patriots used passages of history classical to use them as various guidelines to serve in their political projects.
