The following article proposes to address the spatial practices of appropriation of the neighborhood environment of Haitian migrants living in the Estacion Central and Quilicura communes of the city of Santiago. It is proposed to investigate from the ethnographic perspective, on possible conflicts and/or tensions in relation to the uses of neighborhood space resulting from spatial practices deployed by migrants living in central neighborhoods located in the vicinity of the Estacion Central commune, as well as those who in recent years have populated peripheral communes of the city of Santiago, as is the case of the commune of Quilicura. The main results point to the relevance of religious ascriptions and sociocultural life in the neighborhood environment as neighborhood affiliation strategies in a context where the tensions associated with the processes of deterritorialization and reterritorialization-themselves linked to the migratory phenomenon-are put into play.
