This paper raises a number of questions and issues related to the teaching of philosophy in the current educational system. Based on the lack of philosophy impact in the school system and the systematic attempts to "eliminate" or "restrict" it in the secondary education, reflecting the conditions in which the teaching of philosophy is developed. It is also reflected on the evaluation methods that articulates a philosophy course. All this makes sense when reflecting on the philosophy teaching in the Latin America context,, strongly marked by the social conflict, the crisis of democracy and the need, in the middle of a field like this, to think about the relationship between teaching philosophy with the political system and the importance of revitalizing the democratic system.
