This paper examines the concept of complex trauma in light of the political philosophy of the famous French philosopher Michel Foucault, specifically from the theoretical thought known as biopolitics. The link between complex trauma and biopolitics will allow us to arrive at the concept of torture in Foucault's work. This conceptualization is pertinent for two reasons. The first, because it would offer the possibility of thinking about a philosophy of childhood beyond psychological trauma. While the second is related to the fact that torture as a concept would allow to express in a precise way, a clinical dimension that the trauma by itself does not manage to reflect in the work with children subjected to this type of trauma. In other words, this text aims to outline a research perspective capable of understanding childhood beyond the psychopathological or neuropsychological clinic.
