This paper explains the importance of the Hayden White’s linguistic cultural turn on recent history narrative and hermeneutic. The objective of this work is to recognize opportunities and challenges that this historiographic field has proposed for the historical discipline, for this purpose the research analyze the relationated bibliographic sources. The hypothesis is that the recent history has a renewing character for the historiography because it has allowed interpret and think the sources, principally the value that orality acquires for the recent past. A critical historiography that was born from a different thinking community that takes a political position.
