The essay discusses the need of incorporating in the Chilean educative policies, criteria for an ethical assessment of teachers in intercultural educative contexts. The characteristics of current policies of Chilean teachers assessment are analyzed based on theoretical proposals which problematize the need of an intercultural ethics training to promote a school culture that incorporates local indigenous culture. The main results show the urgency of thinking about a competence of interculrural ethics in the teachers training process, which must be enhanced by means of a continuous assessment policy of the aquired competencies. It is concluded with the proposal of seven assessment criteria for the development of an intercultural ethical performance, so as to rethink an education with indigenous sociocultural relevance.
