This article reports on a literature review of 32 research articles related to the provision of schooling to students within hospitals. In particular, the research interest was focused on evidence in the literature to describe and characterize the pedagogical practices developed in the educational context of the hospital in terms of their regulation, format, duration, content, and associated benefits. From what is reported in the literature, a certain heterogeneity is observed in pedagogical practices due to specific characteristics, which could be explained by whether it is regulated as a basis. There is no evidence of a specific model of pedagogical practices for the student population educated in the hospital, while it is observed that there are only suggestion for their implementation.
