Contemporary migrations are an imperative element in the training of professionals in legal and social sciences given the growing presence of international mobility in recent decades for economic, political, social, or environmental reasons. This puts pressure on disciplinary boundaries because is a phenomenon of a complex nature, whose research requires the articulation of knowledge and methodologies from different areas. In this study, we propose a dialogue between law, history, and sociology to emphasize the ideas of migrants and refugees, free movement, and liberal equality to understand migration, all elements elaborated from a formative experience within the framework of an interdisciplinary research project. We conclude on the importance of training in migration, and the transdisciplinary horizon needed to approach this field.
