This article is based on the question of the limited success of South-South networks, mainly in relation to the lack of interest in the intellective ecosystems of the South with respect to the other "Souths", in addition to several other factors. A brief enumeration is made of cases with poor success and of some causes that have prevented extension and permanence, which are the main signs of success. A case considered successful is presented, as a counterpoint. As a conclusion of the article, reflections and recommendations are made to inform new attempts at structuring South-South intellectual meetings and networks.
