This article is part of our research about the laminar theme of the mid-twenthieth century in Chile, and focuses on works and proyects with hyperbolic paraboloids than have been little studied but that our hypothesis values due creating alternatives to the lintel flat shapes that predominate in the country. They are unusual and heterogeneous cases, not always consistent with the pio-neering concrete hypar shells of pioneers such as B. Laffaille, G. Baroni in the 30s and Felix Candela in 50s. In fact, not all of them were built in concrete and there are not systematic studies of the Chilean complex. Our qualitative analysis aims to formulate an unprecedented set with graphic models to understand why its formal variety and materials reached a remarkable level in struc-tural efficiency and meanings of fluid space. As an result of this study reveals a small group of authors, some linked to universities which experimented in this structures, thus we discover techniques peculiarities from tridimensional models and links between protagonists.
