It would seem that public policy in Chile is advancing by leaps and bounds to the conception of the territory as a conceptual and methodological approach of social intervention for the targeting of resources. In this way, the programmatic offer of social investment programs today leaves behind economist conceptions of local development and migrate towards conceptual frameworks that relieve the concept of territoriality as a factor that delimits this new object. However, the management of the territory has been a field where disciplines such as architecture or geography have exercised a certain disciplinary monopoly based on historical and institutional practices of long standing and where the participation of new professional areas is evaluated with some caution. This study aims to identify, through the analysis of current curricula of pre-degree Social Work programs in Chile, traditional and emerging subjects that can potentially contribute to strengthening the participation of this social science professional in the new challenges of governance and territorial management.
