The present study its focused to identify the evolution undergone by the Chilean Antarctic policy in the context of Cold war. Since 1940, through the Supreme Decree N degrees 1.747, the Chilean state adopted a sovereignty position regarding their interests in the Chilean Antarctic, demonstrated this position in front of the international community through multiples official acts that strengthened their presence in this sector. This position of the state will take a negotiator character from 1948 by the proposal of Escudero, without losing sight of the interests of the Chilean State in the Antarctic. By this way, there will be an evolution in the policy of Chilean Antarctic, taking the account of the two super powers in the white continent and the interests of the another countries with presence in the Antarctic, process that will finish with the sign of the Treaty Antarctic of 1959.
