In Chile between 1932 and 1945 a nationalist-like movement was developed together with other diverse movements, parties and conglomerates that, despite being ideologically different, agreed on certain social and political ideas. Regardless of these differences, they had a clear position regarding the role of women in their society in terms of their responsibilities at home, the idea of femininity and their duties as citizens. Regarding their role at home, women were believed to be a key member within the family, however, regarding their role in politics, women were believed to be auxiliary, which can be seen in the many publications made by the conglomerates. This publications were intended, on one hand, to identify and promote the strengths of nationalist woman, while, on the other hand, were intended to condemn any female behavior that didn't agree with the traditional ideas that had been determined by the nationalist parties. It is to emphasize that the nationalist women shared the ideas determined by the nationalist parties on the role of women, since they believed, just as their "male counterparts", their ideas and actions could change their country.
