Agradecimientos

Agradecimiento
To promote and strengthen research between partnerships as well as to integrate environmental and HAB ecological studies in this large southernmost region, several regional institutions (Centro CREAN-Instituto de Fomento Pesquero, Universidad de Magallanes, Centro CIEP, Centro IDEAL-Universidad Austral de Chile) prepared this special issue that focuses on emerging HABs environmental-ecological studies in the region. We thank the financial support of FONDAP IDEAL Center (ANID 15150003) and Program Prospección Glaciar-Oceánica de Floraciones Algales Nocivas en la región de Magallanes y Antártica Chilena - PROFAN Magallanes (ANID AUB1900003). We also thank the Undersecretary of Economy and Smaller Companies, Undersecretary of Fisheries (SUBPESCA) and Aquaculture, Fisheries Development Institute (IFOP), who finance, allocate and execute, respectively, the Monitoring Program in the system of fjords and channels of Chile (Permanent Program in the framework of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Law No. 20,657); M. Frangopulos also thanks ANID – Millennium Science Initiative Program (ICN2021-002) and ANID BASAL (FB210018), Cape Horn International Center (CHIC), Universidad de Magallanes. Finally, we would like to thank Francisco Bahamonde for his help and collaboration with Figure 1. Special thanks go to the editor of Progress in Oceanography, Dr. Enrique Curchitser, for his support throughout the production process of this Special Issue. Many thanks to the captain and crews of R/V Cabo de Hornos, Armada de Chile, who assisted and supported on the field to successfully complete this study.
