The article proposes a reading of La inquietante extranez by Cecilia Echeverria and Armando Uribe focusing on the relationships between text and image. The idea of the uncanny and the image of the imbunche are presented as key terms in order to understand the representation of political violence in the context of chilean dictatorship and post-dictatorship periods.
