The abdominal wall defects are a group of congenital malformations that represent heterogeneous defects and share a common characteristic, which is the herniation or evisceration of one or more organs of the abdominal cavity due to a defect in the formation of the abdominal wall. The most frequent pathologies of this group are gastroschisis and omphalocele, however, there are more diseases that are included in this group as Pentalogy of Cantrell, member complex wall, bladder and cloacal exstrophy. In this article we review the normal examination and the most frequent abdominal Wall defects, its diagnosis and management.
