The aim of this article is to analyse the socio-economic insertion of Venezuelans in Santiago, based on the modes of incorporation and the limits present in intra-and inter-ethnic networks in terms of access to and control of resources, i.e., information on employment and housing, commerce and money management. The relationships between three stakeholders are analysed: Venezuelan, Chilean and Chinese nationals and, to a lesser extent, links with Peruvians. In terms of methodology, the paper is based on ethnographic fieldwork carried out between 2018 and 2021 in the centre of Santiago. The information obtained from the interviews was analysed using Ucinet and Netdraw, observing structural elements in the conformation of the networks, while Geno Pro and Atlas.ti 7.5.4 software were used to identify more qualitative transversalities. The conclusions drawn are that there are negative repercussions in terms of housing and employment, rooted in the restrictive migration policy that has been implemented since 2018 and which were worsened by the pandemic of 2020-2021. This has tended to push such migrants towards impoverishment, labour segmentation and the emergence of ethnic enclaves.
