The problem reporting and tracking system (PRTS ) is the ALMA system to register operation al problems, trac k unplanned correc tive operational maintenanc e ac tiviti es and follow th e investi gations of all problems or possible issues arisen in operation activiti es. Af ter th e PRTS implemen tation appeared several issues that finally produced a lack in th e man agement of th e investigations, problems to produc e KPIs, loss of information, among oth ers. In order to improve PR TS, we carri ed out a proc ess to revi ew the s tatus of system, d efine a s et of modific ations and implement a solution; all according to the stakeholder requirements. In this work, we shall presen t th e methodology applied to define a s et of concrete actions at the basis of unders tanding the complexity of the problem, which finally got to improve the interactions between different subsystems and enhance the communication at different levels.
