This article aims to analyze Chinese migration in Chile considering five historical stages extended from the late 19th century to the present. In this sense, and by means of the analysis of historiographic sources, the article proposes that in spite of observing deep asymmetries between China and Chile and that the relations basis has evidently been economic exchange, there is a clear and direct but unexplored link between migration, historical context and linguistic, cultural cooperation. The research establishes that the role of non, state actors and the linkage based on cultural and language promotion throughout common history, contributed to a profound knowledge beyond the economic field, and led to a growing and sustained Chinese migration settled in Chilean territory, which gradually strengthened the bilateral relationship between both countries.
