For the authors of this winning competition entry to house sculptor Mario Irarrázabal’s work, a museum can be understood as a garden —defined by its limits but also open to change. For us at ARQ, this project also demonstrates how buildings can be tools for ecological recovery, wherein the logic of their positioning, circulation, and infrastructural networks are treated as opportunities to favor the more-than-human species that already inhabit the site.
