Introduction Cancer deaths are increasing in frequency, gaining urogenital cancers an important place. The main objective of this study was to describe the trends and geographical distribution of mortality due to prostate, testicle, bladder and kidney cancer in Chile. Methods Using mortality registries from the National Health Ministry, statistical yearbooks and population projections from the National Institute of Statics, age adjusted mortality rates for prostate, testicle, bladder and kidney cancer where calculated. Analysis of annual trends and geographical distribution where made. A search was conducted for incidence national data. Results. Prostate: an increase in general mortality rate was observed, however in the subgroup of 50-80 years old a slight decrease was noted. The highest rate was registered in 1996 with 21 deaths x 100000 males. Testicle: the highest adjusted mortality rate was observed in 1983, being 1.8 x 100000 males, decreasing afterwards at a 1.3% yearly rate. Bladder: during the studied period an 0.4% increase was observed annually, reaching a rate of 1.94 x 100000 habs in 2015. Kidney: a 1.1% constant yearly increase was observed in males and females, reaching rates of 4,35 x 100000 habs in 2015. Conclusion A slight and incipient decrease is starting to be noted in prostate cancer mortality, whereas a small but constant reduction in testicular cancer is observed. Mortality due to kidney cancer has risen in both sexes, meanwhile bladder cancer has only increased in females.
