Since 2008, a group of european and latin-american experts in clinical myology have joined forces to raise awareness and knowledge in this emerging discipline of modern medicine. Through an annual teaching course called EVELAM, they trained hundreds of medical specialists of the continent (mostly neurologists and pediatricians) on how to recognize and manage these rare, complex conditions for which novel therapies are now on the horizon.
