Objective: Update the perioperative confrontation of Anabolic Androgenic Steroids users. Materials and Methods: Scooping review. Two clinical cases related to anesthetic management in anabolic androgenic steroid users, published between 2000 and 2020, were included, and two narrative reviews on the subject were analyzed. The databases were used: Pubmed, Proquest, Web of Science and Science Direct. Results: The clinical cases show the complications and the management due to the use of anabolic androgenic steroids and the narrative reviews the pre-anesthetic, intraoperative and postoperative considerations based on the pathophysiology and pharmacology. Conclusion: There is a lack of data on the anesthetic implications of anabolic steroid abuse, but understanding the physiological implications may help guide the treatment of these patients.
