The objective of this study is to analyze the various mechanisms of protection of the reserved part in the Chilean Civil Code, and compare them with the different protection mechanisms of this share of the inheritance in South American Law, in order to determinate if they are similar or different (and in that case, if the differences are substantial or not), or if they has other ways of protection unknown in our succession system.
