This chapter concentrates on the process called "Occupation of the Araucania" in Chile at the end of the XIX and beginning of the XX century, considering the way in which it can be taught in Mapunche communities, starting from the premise that a bibliographic update and oral memory studies are required. Two cases are presented in schools located in the commune of Panguipulli, whose product is the construction of contextualized educational materials, which serve to complement one of the major weaknesses identified: the low treatment of the subject in official textbooks. It begins with the exposition of the problem and its antecedents, continuing with the theoretical and methodological approaches. The results are divided into two parts: (1) empirical evidence on the memories of occupation of the Mapunche territory in the vicinity of Panguipulli; (2) presentation of the educational materials built together with the educational community. At the end, considerations are indicated so that future didactic research can reflect on the application of significant educational content for territories where one of the most complex conflicts in the relationship between the Chilean State and Mapuche society was experienced and suffered.
