This work is part of the debates on recent history and sociology of culture, under the question of what were the conditions of emergence of the journal Controversia (1979-1981) as a critical and novel publication in its context. Our working hypothesis is that the characteristics of exile and the premature abandonment of the armed struggle opened the possibility for reflection and intellectual production, which placed this magazine as a turning point for the trajectory of its publishing group.
