The purpose of this work is to provide a contingent and critical view of the way in which the right of access to information by children and adolescents is enshrined in our legal system. For the elaboration of this article, a qualitative research was carried out with a hermeneutical approach of a documentary type. As a result, we find that although the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Spanish Constitution and national domestic regulations echo the right to information of children and adolescents, they do not devote particular attention to the way in which access is guaranteed the same. The foregoing leads us to conclude the need to reformulate a good number of our legal provisions, in order to ensure that the right of children and adolescents to access information is guaranteed and protected effectively. Not only from a paternalistic approach, as a duty to be guaranteed by the State, but also as a right -fundamental -of which minors are entitled.
