Considering the speed and complexity of the aging process worldwide as a social phenomenon and in the context of the global health crisis caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus (COVID-19), the present study sought to determine the levels of social support and perception of quality of life in elderly people in the context of the pandemic. The study was based on a quantitative, cross-sectional approach and a descriptive-correlational study. The sample consisted of 141 people (51 men and 90 women) from the southern-central zone of the country. The results were contrasted based on the psychosocial development theory, ecological theory and social network theory and, specifically, on the analysis of social support based on the Social Support Scale (EAS) and of perception of quality of life using the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. Among the findings, it was determined that the protective factors -expressed in high scores of supports; social, family, friends and quality of life in its dimensions of physical and psychological health, environment and social relationships -contribute to a normal-positive perception on the part of the elderly.
