This research analyzed the coverage and representation that the Chilean feminist student movement of 2018 was given in the national press, focusing on the four most important newspapers in the country: El Mercurio, La Tercera, La Cuarta and Las Últimas Noticias, as well as in the study of two digital media: Biobiochile.cl and Emol.com. This mobilization was also studied locally through the Diario Austral Región de Los Ríos, located in Valdivia, the city where the feminist student demands began, under the wing of the Universidad Austral de Chile. The interest was in understanding how the media are dealing with these social mobilizations and knowing if they are providing a pluralistic view on the issue and the actors involved or if, rather, they were delivering a sexist, stereotyped and discriminatory vision to citizens through their news publications. To do this, the methodology of discourse studies was used, aiming the efforts of the research team to benefit from a critical view of the discourses and media analyzed.
