Signs Preceding the End of the World by the Mexican writer Yuri Herrera examines the emergence of a liberal cosmopolitan subjectivity based on the revision of Nahuatl kataba-sis. Herrera uses this mythologem to symbolize the persistence of violence and colonial inequities exerted, as a historical continuum, on the fragile migrant body.
