The living conditions and level of development of rural communities is largely related to access to energy, since energy directly impacts on education, health and entrepreneurship. In this sense, this paper proposes an alternative method to mitigate energy poverty in rural communities based on the development of technology from the scientific community. This paper shows methodologies developed in recent years in electrification projects for rural communities based on the design of appropriate technologies and STEM training in secondary schools as a catalyst for the development of activities to achieve low-cost, replicable projects. and sustainable over time.
