Geoffrey's cat (Leopardus geoffroyi) is a small feline whose swimming behavior had been reported but without photographic evidence. The pantanal cat (Leopardus brac-catus) is a felid about which there is scarce information, especially due to its recent reclassification as a monotypic species. As part of the citizen science projects "Gato de Geoffroy" and "Felinos silvestres del mundo", we obtained the first photographic records of swimming behavior in Geoffroy's cats, a record of L. geoffroyi emerging from the water, and the first record of L. braccatus in a body of water. It is essential to carry out more research in this regard to understand wild species as elusive as these in a more holistic way.
