This article pursues two objectives. First, this article evaluates to what extent the special principles and standards that must be applied to adolescents subject to closed regime punishment are recognized and applied by the legislator and the executive power in Chile. Second, this article analyzes to what extent the jurisprudence of the higher courts, the Supreme Court and Appeal Courts, emanating from the appeals for protection that are filed on behalf of imprisoned adolescents, is in harmony with the standards of international and national law.
