The following work presents an analysis of the figure of Isidore of Seville in the chronicle discourse of the twelfth and thirteenth centuries using content analysis. The article focuses in hispanic case from a general description of the origin and evolution of warrior saints. Then it analyses the use of the memory of the Sevillian bishop to validate the monarchy through a discourse based on the heritage of the Visigothic lineage, providentialism and the fight against Islam.
