This paper analyzes the doctrinal and jurisprudential trends around the work carried out by equity arbitrators in international commercial arbitration. Specifically, this presentation refers to the position of these arbitrators regarding the contract that gives rise to the conflict between the parties. After the casuistic analysis, it is concluded that, in general, the equity arbitrators respect the contract as a limit to their adjudication work.
