This article analyzes the policy of the government of President Piñera to expand the activity of the Armed Forces in internal security through a process of covert militarization that uses various institutional mechanisms to avoid political debate in Congress, generating a de facto situation in which which expands the roles assigned to the military. The objective of the article is to contribute to the elaboration of a new perspective about the current processes of militarization that occur in Chile, generating new questions and questions about the insertion of the Armed Forces in the democratic regime.
