Books III and VIII of Thucydides contain the most explicit and violent descriptions of the stasis in the context of the Peloponnesian War. In this paper, we identify and analyse passages whose interpretation evidence positions of dissidence and resistance to the democratic side by a Thucydides who seems to adhere to the ideas of the oligarchic side.
