For today's organizations, it is essential to have people who possess the appropriate characteristics that contribute to the fulfillment of the objectives and general goals of the company. The objective of this work is to design a model of Personnel Management by Competencies in a Chilean company. The methodology used contemplates the revision of the vision, mission and values, designs the management processes of people by competencies and formulates the management indicators. As a result, it was obtained that for the position of laboratory assistant in the balance of 81% of the fulfillment of the general and specific competencies of this position. Finally, it is concluded that the model articulates in a key way the vision of mission and business with the organizational culture of the company and also allows the development of the skills of the people and the organization in a constantly changing environment.
