The objective of this paper is to analyze the figure of Gabriel Gonzalez Videla under his work as senator, diplomat and president of the Republic of Chile, with the purpose of inquiring about his vision regarding communist ideology in the national and international political scene. Through the analysis of numerous documentary sources obtained from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile (MINREL), the Library of the National Congress of Chile, National Library of Chile and funds from the United Nations (UN), we intend to expand the study regarding the anticommunist turn adopted by the last standard of radical governments, which had as its maximum expression the proscription of the Chilean Communist Party (PCCh) in 1948 with the entry into force of the Law for the Permanent Defense of Democracy.
