Protestants and their numerous denominations have become the second religious force in Colombia due to their permanent media-based proselytes and presence at all social and political scenarios. These strengths are used in the competition for gaining believers from traditionalist Catholicism. The objective of this research is to describe and analyze the historical process by which Protestants and their denominations have broadened their religious scope in Colombia and understand the growth and subdivisions of this religious group. Therefore, it is pertinent to conduct a historical synthesis study and explain the main concepts defining the Protestant field. This research is based on a thorough investigation on available Protestantism bibliography in Colombia and Protestants and their objector Catholics have written a document review on what. The conclusions ratify the fact that Protestants have managed to grow in an exponential manner due to their fragmentation and posterior organization in national churches of Pentecostal and Charismatic characteristics.
