Research presented below deals with the religious identity of Mayan groups who inhabited the region of the Chetumal bay, during the Post Classic period (1100/1200-1400/500 D.C.). We will handle the anthropological theory to interpret an archaeological context found in Ichpaatim, Quintana Roo, Mexico, specifically the so-called Structure II. Ethnohistorical information, as well as iconographic interpretations, will also be used. In this way, through a multidisciplinary exercise we will be giving greater support to the final archaeological interpretations.
