Based on a conceptual exploration of part of the national social historiography on proletarianization processes in Chile (19th and 20th centuries) and Santiago's pobladores movement between 1940 and 1973, this article proposes an interpretation of class formation in the moment of social reproduction. Linking class notions from contemporary feminist Marxism and symbolic / moral approaches, it proposes that the action of pobladoras and pobladores until 1973 can be understood as a route to proletarianization.
