This article examines the relations between Argentina and Chile in the mid-twentieth century, under the leadership of Juan Peron and Carlos Ibanez del Campo respectively, through the coverage of the political-satirical magazine Topaze. An evolution is detected in its editorial line, from an initial optimism, marked by the potential economic integration, towards critical positions due to Argentina's repeated interference in Chile's internal affairs, particularly through bribery and promotion of the closing of Congress.
