The site La Matriz del Barrio Puerto of Valparaiso was maned World Heritage by Unesco in 2003 due to its historical and cultural value. However, nowadays it has been degraded and stigmatized because of phenomena like delinquency and drug addiction. For that reason, between 2014 and 2016, a research was carried out aiming to understand the meanings and attitudes that its inhabitants build on the drug consumption and from these assumptions, how they characterize their public space and the posibilities of building a socially responsible citizenship that becomes a contribution to recover this heritage site.
