After distinguishing among many maps those that contained the city of the Caesars, the graphic trajectory of this possible place has been reconstructed. Diverting our focusing from drawings of the city itself, this work understands its presence as a place expressed through concrete actions located in the Patagonian space (routes) and in the form of legends or explanations written on these maps. This study inspects 15 items of distinct nature and with different objectives, of which we have inquired into the sources of information that made the nonexistent city take place in cartography. By proposing the reverse process, that is, contrasting what the maps say and how they say it, with the written sources, it is possible to better understand the ways through which the information circulated, and the process through which the southern border was given historical content.
