The Japanese migration process in the American continent is examined from Chilean diplomacy, along with two projects on migration from Japan to Chile in 1913 - 1930, analyzing the hardships involved in these arrangements by the Chilean governmental spheres. The relevance of Tokyo initiatives was posing demographic settlements in two distinct geographic areas; one of them connected with capital investments on the nitrate industry in the northern region, and the other related to pisciculture and the forest industry in the southern region.
