The educational system is responsible for most of our society sociocultural patterns transmission and expression. Gender is among these sociocultural patterns. This is a subject of recent study in educational context, which is why research on teachers' perception about it are of upmost necessity. On the other hand, metaphor is a tool, used in people's daily life, that can ease the understanding of abstract ideas, which makes it useful for studying beliefs, opinions and conceptualizations from different people. This paper is based on a qualitative research, and its aim is to describe animal metaphors elicited from fifth year pedagogy students, about male and female students. Through 10 interviews, a total of 10 metaphors that compared students to animals were identified, which differentiated the behavior of students in the classroom based on their gender. As main results, it's prominent that metaphors associated to the male gender refer to restlessness, disorder and physicality; while metaphors associated to the female gender refer to tranquility and verbal behavior. Some of the metaphors produced reflected the importance of age differentiation on student's behavior. Future research might be able to broaden the investigation, with a bigger sample, easing the selection of strategies that help diminish gender inequity from teachers.
