Meaning holism is a theory that is related to the meanings that are attributed to words and their relationships to other words in a language. In this paper we propose to rehabilitate meaning holism as a reasonable philosophical position and to present a version of semantic holism developed by Henry Jackman (1999a, 1999b, 2006 and 2015) called "moderate holism". This theory is able to explain some linguistic phenomena, such as vagueness, polysemy and ambiguity, making moderate holism a useful theory not only for the philosophy of language, but also for studies of linguistic semantics.
